The Light Program takes place in the Yakuin area, located in the heart of Fukuoka. Its distinctive features include compactly scheduled event times and the opportunity for participants to hear explanations and experience activities at a reasonable cost.
There are two types of Light Programs:
Yakuin Asobi offers experiential events where participants can learn vocal techniques and dance movements. It is not only for those who want to learn more about Noh but also an ideal program for those who want to experience traditional Japanese performing arts firsthand. We offer instruction in English for those who may not speak Japanese.
The Recipe of Noh allows attendees to enjoy the essence of Noh through the viewing of three selected pieces (each approximately 5 minutes) with on-the-spot explanations of the dance and music by the instructor.
In both events, the instructor’s family can provide explanations in English. If translation is needed please contact us in advance so that we can prepare in time.
Whether you have an interest in Noh but are not familiar, want to listen to explanations, or desire to experience Noh personally, these programs are highly recommended to you.
